For the first time in FIFTY YEARS, the Kansas City Chiefs have won the SUPERBOWL!!!!
~ The talk around the nation is how great of a quarterback Patrick Mahomes is and how much respect there is for Coach Andy Reid. Is this the beginning of a new dynasty like the Cowboys, the Steelers, the 49ers and the Patriots had in the past? Could Mahomes continue to dazzle and captivate the nation with his incredible talent? Could Kansas City really be able to afford to keep him and still field a competitive supporting cast?
~ It's amazing that the Chiefs finally got another Super Bowl victory after 50 years. It's also amazing that it was Coach Reids' 222 game and it was on 02/02/2020. It was awesome to hear the Tomahawk Chop in the background. It seems that most of the country was pulling for the Chiefs. The television audience seems to support that. The ratings for this Super Bowl was up compared to the last four televised games that had been slumping. This game was the tenth highest watched Super Bowl.
~ There could be something said about a comparison between the Chiefs and their neighbors just across the parking lot. The Royals were known to come from behind in the late innings a few years ago, in the regular season as well as the playoffs. In Game Five of the World Series, they had the dramatic flair of tying the game in the ninth inning before winning it all in the 12th (2015).
Looks like the Arrowhead Gang picked up on that just to make the playoffs AND the Super Bowl more interesting by coming from behind by 10 points or more. That includes the Super Bowl, where they were down 10 points with just over seven minutes to go. Then they scored THREE touchdowns.
If you want to stretch it a little further, there's a team a few miles west just off of I-70 that came from behind in the last TEN SECONDS to tie the game before the Kansas Jayhawks went on to win The National Championship (2008). Three seperate teams, in three different sports, that had the same philosophy of driving their fans nuts by coming from behind late in a game to win, that are seperated by a mere 50 milies. Coincidence? I think not. Must be the water.
For the past few decades, it seems as if there is a general "dumbing down" of society. Looks like it's reached the White House. President Trump sent out a text congratulating the Kansas City Chiefs on a great comeback and representing THE GREAT STATE OF KANSAS and the USA so well. Duh. Well done, Prez! (There's probably a lot of people that don't understand what's wrong with his comment.)
